physical health----dancing

I liked dancing a lot when I was in middle school so I always wanted to learn dancing. Then I came to this school there are many clubs and one of then are Dancing Club. When I saw this club I joined in it immediately. I was very excited about the club because I finally can learn dancing.
The club practices every Saturday from 1 to 3. The students are the teachers for example Seven and Elva are teaching Jazz, Mona is teaching girl’s Hip Pop and Only is teaching Breaking. The students are teachers because we don’t have to pay any money if you want to have a teacher you have to pay so we all choose the students to be the teachers.
In October our school held a Sports Day and they need the Dancing Club to perform after the first half of the soccer game so the club leader Only told us the news. On National day he told us to go to school to practice for 3 days. We didn’t know any moves because we had never learn dancing before most of us are beginners so Mona had to teach us the basic moves. Then the next day she taught us the moves she told us to remember the moves by next day because we didn’t have much time. She tested us the next day if all of us passed then she started to teach the rest of the moves. It was really hard to remember all the moves in such a short time but we made it. We practiced a lot. We had to stay after school for 2 more hours until 7 o’clock and after lunch we had to practice too. All of us were hungry and tired but we had to make this performance prefect. When we get home we still have to practice and our knee hurt a lot. At the last day of the performance we stayed at school till 8 o’clock we practiced again and again because we were afraid if tomorrow we would make mistakes. At the Sports Day we did a good job and my friends all said we were great and I was really happy about it even though we practiced till very late and hungry but we had success.
After the Sports Day we started practice as usual this time the girl’s Hip Pop teacher didn’t come but the Jazz teacher came so we all learned Jazz. I think I like Jazz more then Hip Pop because you have to have a lot of energy when you dance Hip Pop but Jazz you don’t have to. On the celebration of Christmas the Dancing Club also did a performance and they were good I didn’t perform because I didn’t have time to practice but next time I will go.
I think learning can make me slimmer and can help me get exercise because when I get home I have to do my homework and don’t have time to exercise. I will keep on learning. dancing.

On March 7th the Dancing Club proformed on stage for the Foreign Language Festival. We practiced a lot for the last two weeks before the proformance. We leanrt reggae and we even called a reggae teacher to teach us. We always practiced very late after school. However we were successful and we even won the first price. Although we were all very tired and nervous but we felt sweet after we finished the proformance.

Eating with the grade 12

On December 20th our whole class except some people went to Tacos---a western restaurant to have meals with the grade 12. It is one of our chapters' in our portfolio—culture awareness. It asked us to go to a Western restaurant we chose Tacos because we thought Tacos is affordable for our students.
At about 6o’clock we met at Tacos. First we ordered our meals we had a very long list for all of our meals there were so many people in Tacos so the waitress and waiter got mixed up our meals and we waited for a long time for our meals almost 1 hour and we were all starving. There were way too many people that they didn’t even have forks. It was boring to wait for meals so we took a lot of pictures with each other. I ordered beaf with rice same as most of the people.
The boys’ meals were faster than the girls’ but I was really starving so I took Chester’s meal from him because we ordered the same meal. Then everyone else at our table is staring at me. When the meal came we invited the grade 12 to take pictures with us. The boys ordered a lot their table was full of empty plates. The meal was really delicious and we ate all up including the girls.
After eating they said they wanted to go singing and most of us agreed so we took taxi to get there. There were too many people but a very small room so some boys had to sit on the floor. We sang some English songs too. I went home at about 9:30 otherwise it was too late for me.
Eating together with classmates was a fun and interesting thing to do. We can chat what ever we want and we are the same age we will plan to go out together again sometime.

A Sleeping Baby

Last Thursday we went to Nanjing University to see an exhibition. The title of the exhibition is Wu Weishan Cultural Figurs and it's all showing sculpture of Wu Weishan. All the artworks are made by himself. The artworks are both traditional and contemporary. I think it is traditional beacuse the color of the baby looks very teaditional and people in the old times often use this material. I also think it is contemporary because it gives me a feeling of a new style.

My favourite artwork is "A Sleeping Baby" and a famous arist Wu Weishan made the artwork in 1998. He used oval-shapes to make the baby's head and nose. The baby's eyes and mouth are made of lines. The whole color of the baby is bronze because the baby is made of bronze. All we can see from the artwork is only the head of the sleeping baby with his mouth open a bit.
I think this artwork makes me feel sleepy and want to pinch his chubby cheeks. It shows me this person's demeanor and spirit. When I looked at this artwork it makes me think of a baby who went to play outside for a long time and came home very tired and fell asleep so quickly and deeply that we didn't even notice. This artwork reminds me of my niece. Once she came to my house and played with me I took her outside and after we came back she lay on my bed. Shortly after she felt asleep. I think the artist's intention is to tell and show people how lovely the baby looks when he is sleeping. He thinks the baby looks like an angel and wants him to sleep deeply.
I really think this artwork is fantastic beacuse I think the artwork represents purity and love. The angelic baby impresses many people and they won't forget it. When I looked at this artwork the first thought I head is the purity of the baby. He looks deeply asleep and was so adorable with his mouth open. I think people who sleep with their mouth open are deeply asleep. Also the baby's cheeks look so chubby and looks like an angel and angel always represents purity.
I think other people might not appreciate this artwork because other people don't know whta it is and they might think the baby is dead!!
I think the artwork is successful and I really enjoyed going there. I also met Wu Weishan ---the artist and I took a picture with him.

GUEST ARTIST

On Monday afterschool we went to Nanjing University with our classmates and our two teachers. We met a famous artist because our art teacher wants us to learn about art.His name is Zhao Bing.He is a professor in Nanjing University.He told us about the ancient Suzhou garden's design.He told us about what is a garden?What's the first form of the chinese garden?What types of gardens does China have?etc.
When he came in to the class everyone welcomed him.Then he started to introduce himself. After that he introduced how the chinese word (garden)came from.It came from three chinese words. The first word means the changing of the land;the second one means walls and well;the third word means the brunches on the tree.The word garden was invented in latin--"gar+den"."Gar" means wall and "edn" means a place for you to have fun.The meaning of garden is giving you a living place with beatiful designs which based on plants, mountains, and rocks.
There are four different kinds of gardens in China.They are:
1.Royal garden
2.Private garden
3.Religion garden
4.View garden
Here are something special about the Suzhou garden. There are many trees and forests. Although it locates in the cinty center but it is still quiet in the garden.Back to the history there are many poems in the Suzhou garden which were written by the old chinese people.
The rocks are not separate from each other they are one part. They are very dangerous, and deep.
I think this persentation was very meaningful because we learnt more about the garden design and it is one kind of art. We also learnt how to admire arts. I felt really honor listening to this persentation.
