Why math video

This is a video when we did a Math project called WHY MATH. Our group members were Avery, Jennifer, Dave and me. We made a video about ancient people how to count apples and they made a mistake. Someone who studyed Math came and solved the problem. It was a really funny video and this is one part of the video. Our marks were pretty good and we were satisfied with it.

My best works in GCA

This is a photo when we had our English Listening Test. The people talked really fast and we had to kept on writing. If we stopped we would miss many questions. The full mark was 76 and I got 74.

This is a picture we took in PE class in Nanshida University. This is the pyramid that has 6 people 3 on the bottom 2 on the second floor and one on the top. I'm at the very top because I'm very light and everyone in class can hold me.

This is a picture of our group work in Social Studies class. Each group had to make a poster about Confederation and our group members were Sky, Fiona and me. The total point was 35 and we got 30. It was a high mark.

This photo is a homework from our Mandarin class the chinese word means very good because I got all the questions right. We didn't have much homework in Mandarin so this is my best work.

This picture is my Science notebook. Last time Mr. Shapour took them and checked it. The full mark was 10 and I got nine. There weren't so many student got 10 out of 10.

This is a picture about my Art exam in term one we had two parts and each part worth 20 marks. I got 18 on the first part and 15 on the second part. The total is 40 and I got 33.

This photo is a quiz in Math class the total point was 10 and I got 9. I made a very small mistake so I got one point off. It was a pity.

This photo is the final exam from term 2 and I got the highest mark in our class. This is one of my best work in Planning class.

Woking in NO:1 hospital

Last weekend I went to the NO: 2 Hospital in Changzhou to look after the patient and help them clean the hospital floor. I went to the hospital at 8am with my mom but she left when she drove me there.
First I didn’t know the way to the patients’ sickrooms so I had to ask many people and the hospital is so big that I often got lost there. When I got to the sickrooms I saw many of their relatives staring at me and didn’t know what was I doing in their sickroom. So I had to tell them that I’m volunteering for the hospital to look after the patients. They felt strange because in China we usually don’t have volunteers however they appreciated that I can look after the patients for them. Some patients could not get out of bed because they were have an intravenous drip so every time they wanted to go to the bathroom I had to take the intravenous drip with them. Some of them only wanted me to talk to them so they wouldn’t feel lonely. I peeled pears and apples for them because it is dangerous for old people to peel for themselves. I also changed water for them. They were all very pleased with me and they were happy. Some of the old people even thought that I was their grandchild. I worked until noon and I had lunch in the hospital cafeteria.
I rest for a little while after the lunch and started working at 1pm again. I went to the cleaners there and told them that I was a volunteer here and wanted to clean the floor for them so they could have a rest. I took their mop and started swiping the floor. It took me a longtime to swipe the floor because every time when I finished mopping the floor people would come and step on it because they had to go through where I mopped. After they stepped on it they would leave a footprint on the floor.
However I enjoyed this experience and I think it was excellent. From this experience I learnt how to take care of others and being patient. I also know how to communicate with others well and how to solve other people’s loneliness. I gained how to look after people; many people felt lonely and didn’t want to stay in the hospital so we had to give them warmth.
Now I can easily look after anyone when they are sick or animals that we have in our home. At first I didn’t know how to peel fruits and do a lot of things I felt much more independent and I feel that I can take care of myself if my mom and dad is away.
I like to work in the hospital because I feel independent. Even though I had to look after many patients and I was very busy I like to hear they say I’m a nice girl and she can do things well. These words made me feel sweet and made me wanted to stay there. Maybe in the summer holiday I’ll go there and be a volunteer again.

The MoChou Road church

On December 14th my classmate Avery and I went to a Christian church together on MoChou Road in the afternoon. The church is not very big and it is not easy to find it. We walked for a long time and called my friends because we never went there before.
When we got there they were celebrating the coming Christmas and most of the GCA students went there even the teachers. Ms. Bartell told us this place because her friend was singing up on the stage. I chose the religion because I never seen people celebrating Christmas in church in China and the songs were all in English. They were singing Christmas songs and I knew most of the songs.
When we got there, there were no places to sit and we had to stand. I first like it because I knew all the songs and I could sing along with them. For example: “slight light”. However I found it boring later because they were saying something that I don’t understand and we all didn’t know what is going on. When I was in Canada I don’t go to the church very often. However when it was Christmas time I always went to the church to celebrate so I didn’t find it was strange. Many people understand what were they saying and they were very serious and they dressed very formal. I think I should learn more English so I can understand what were they saying and I won’t feel boring.
Next Christmas maybe I’ll go to the church again and maybe I’ll be able to understand what they are talking about. I think it was a nice experience and I’ll try it again.

Foreign Language Festival

Our school held a Foreign Language Festival on March 7th. The GCA dancing club performed on stage and I was one of them. The Festival started at 8: oo am in. We went there early because we had to do make-up on our face and practice our dancing incase we would make mistakes on stage. We didn't learn the dance for a long time we only learned for 3 classes the rest was practice. We spent a lot of time on our make-up. We have 9 people and most of them don’t know how to put on make-up so we had to help them.
After we finished our make-up we went to the lobby to practice our dancing. We had to wear our outfit to practice so we could see how the clothes effect our dancing. On the stage was hot but outside the stage was really cold and we had to wear only a little. We were freezing cold after we practiced we quickly picked up our clothes and put them on.
Our show was on the last five and every GCA students were waiting for this one. We were all nervous when we were about to perform because we were the first time to perform on stage in front of NFLS students and teachers. When I was standing on the stage I didn’t think about anything but dance. We didn’t make any mistakes and we were so excited after we finished our dance.
First Vera and Elva asked us if we want to perform on stage and we said yes. So we started to learn the moves. I felt nervous at the beginning but after we finished the dance I felt so excited because I did it and I succeed. I learned you don’t have to be nervous when you are performing just do what you can.

Richard Clayderman's concert

On December 30th Richard Clayderman visited Nanjing for Chinese New Year in Wu Tai Shan Gym. The concert started at 7:30p.m and he had an honored guest. They are a group of four Chinese girls who plays four different instruments. My mom picked me up after school and had dinner outside. At about 7:15 we went back to the concert house to wait for his concert. Our sit was in the first roll but it was too high and it’s not in the centre. However we could still see clearly. When Richard Clayderman came out everybody was shouting and clapping. It was the first time I saw him. Before I only have his CDs. I chose this performance because I really like piano and love to listen to him play the piano. All the songs he played were very famous. He also played a song with many children. He can play many Chinese songs and the most famous one he played with the four Chinese girls. His fingers moved really fast. Although he is old but his fingers are not old. He learned some Chinese and talked to us. Most of the time he spoke French but we couldn’t understand anything. There was also a slide show about him from the time he was born till now. He went to many countries to perform and he was really handsome when he was young. The concert ended at about 10 O’clock.
I really enjoyed the concert the music were excellent and I admire him so much that he can play piano so well. I know all the songs he played. The lights were beautiful too. It matched the songs he played. I hope I can see Richard Clayderman again in China. Maybe someday I will learn to play piano and I’ll be able to play all the songs I like.
