On Monday afterschool we went to Nanjing University with our classmates and our two teachers. We met a famous artist because our art teacher wants us to learn about art.His name is Zhao Bing.He is a professor in Nanjing University.He told us about the ancient Suzhou garden's design.He told us about what is a garden?What's the first form of the chinese garden?What types of gardens does China have?etc.
When he came in to the class everyone welcomed him.Then he started to introduce himself. After that he introduced how the chinese word (garden)came from.It came from three chinese words. The first word means the changing of the land;the second one means walls and well;the third word means the brunches on the tree.The word garden was invented in latin--"gar+den"."Gar" means wall and "edn" means a place for you to have fun.The meaning of garden is giving you a living place with beatiful designs which based on plants, mountains, and rocks.
There are four different kinds of gardens in China.They are:
1.Royal garden
2.Private garden
3.Religion garden
4.View garden
Here are something special about the Suzhou garden. There are many trees and forests. Although it locates in the cinty center but it is still quiet in the garden.Back to the history there are many poems in the Suzhou garden which were written by the old chinese people.
The rocks are not separate from each other they are one part. They are very dangerous, and deep.
I think this persentation was very meaningful because we learnt more about the garden design and it is one kind of art. We also learnt how to admire arts. I felt really honor listening to this persentation.
